Jyväskylä Art Street's autumn season opens with a diverse celebration of culture and art on September 6-8. The opening event has plenty of live experiences such as the Kaitafilmi 16 mm film festival, guided walks, open doors of galleries and workspaces, artist meetings, workshops, children's culture, a literary seminar, dance and theater, and exhibitions. In addition to the city of Jyväskylä and the University of Jyväskylä, the opening event is being organized by a large number of actors in the free field of art and individual artists.

In Ilpo Jauhiainen's SMALL FACTS, the texts of nine poets from Jyväskylä intersect, collide, become dusty, layered and fall apart - and form new, unintentional, momentary compositions. This is accompanied by restrained location-related music, created from the sounds recorded in the surroundings of Taavettila Barn. The text chips and voices of the poets, as well as the musica, live in a state of constant change, quietly organizing and changing by themselves - like a flowing river, a living urban space, or a forest that follows the seasons. The Seminaarinmäki campus of the University of Jyväskylä is known to be the most beautiful university campus in Finland, a unique and irreplaceable in terms of cultural heritage value. In 2022, the campus area received the European Cultural Heritage Label from the European Commission for its nationally significant built cultural environment, also representing the equality of Finnish and European education. Yukina Yamamoto, workshop: Making a brush from natural material and painting with ink
The workshop consists of learning about natural materials and taking the environment into account. During the workshop we create brushes from natural materials and paint/experiment with ink on paper. Yamamoto collects the natural materials in Jyväskylä, but participants can collect them themselves from Galleria Becker's yard. The workshop is open to everyone and admission is free. The black Sumi ink used in the workshop does not come off the fabric in the wash. You can wear black clothes that can get ink. Organized by Jyväskylä Artists' Association

Throughout the weekend, the Jyväskylä Art Museum has a point where you can test your knowledge of the City of Culture Jyväskylä. Jyväskylä City Theater and Jyväskylä Sinfonia Gift Cards as well as free tickets to the museum will be drawn among all respondents. From the same point, you can pick up the cultural operators' autumn event brochure or Aaltoja! magazine. The art museum's summer exhibitions Eetu Huhtala and Nykyisyys are open the last weekend, museum admission or museum card.
During the opening hours of Kulttuuritalo Villa Rana, you can experience the Researcher-Mouse's self-made adventure for children and Joonas Ahtikallio's photo exhibition Dark Garden at Gallery Villa Rana.
